The inaugural Infor Community Hackathon is well underway with strong participation and creative project submissions.

What is the Infor Community Hackathon?

Infor® is proud to be able to offer this virtual event that unites developers, Infor customers, partners, and innovators from across the globe. The Hackathon presents participants with the opportunity to form teams and build projects that showcase their skills, delve into new technologies, and create impactful solutions that tackle real-world business challenges. It also serves as a fantastic networking opportunity, where participants can connect with fellow innovators, industry professionals, and Infor experts while exploring what they can build with the Infor OS Platform.

We're excited to announce Amazon Web Services® (AWS®) as a technology partner for the Infor Community Hackathon 2024. AWS's sponsorship of our Hackathon underscores our shared commitment to driving technological innovation and supporting developer communities.

Who is participating?

The Hackathon welcomes innovators from all backgrounds, including Infor customers, Infor partners, and independent developers. Regardless of their experience with Infor technologies, participants can join teams and receive the resources and support needed to get started.

The Hackathon has seen initial registration total 640 participants: 20% Infor customers, 20% Infor partners, and an impressive 60% independent participants.

Twenty proposals were selected from this group, representing teams from ten different countries. (Wondering what advancing in the Hackathon looks like? Keep reading!)

What are participants building?

The Hackathon features diverse challenge categories designed to ignite creativity and explore new ways to build with the Infor OS Platform.

Participants have the option to build projects based on one of five categories:

  1. Wildcard: Showcase your creativity with any innovative solution within the Infor OS Platform
  2. Artificial intelligence (AI): Harness the power of AI to tackle complex business problems
  3. Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Streamline processes and boost efficiency through automation
  4. Extensibility: Build and extend with Mongoose and App Designer
  5. Integration: Create seamless connections between systems and data sources

Each category offers a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their skills, innovate, learn, and connect.

How are they advancing?

The Hackathon unfolds in two exciting stages, ensuring participants have ample time to ideate, collaborate, and bring their innovations to life.

Stage 1, which took place in the first half of October, focused on ideation, team formation, and proposals based on the five challenge categories. During this period, participants registered, formed teams, and submitted their project proposals. Twenty teams, comprising 77 participants in total, moved on to Stage 2.

Stage 2, which kicked off on October 21, is dedicated to education, development, and submission. It began with a training and enablement phase and will be followed with the development and submission of projects. Teams are required to submit a video demo of their innovation with corresponding documentation.

The grand winner of the Hackathon, as well as second and third place winners, will be announced on November 21. On this date, we will have the final capstone event of the Infor Community Hackathon, The Virtual Awards Ceremony. The Virtual Awards Ceremony will showcase the winning projects, and also celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of all the participants.

We’re excited about the enthusiasm from our customers, partners, and greater developer community for this inaugural event! We eagerly await the innovative project proposals they’ll present, showcasing their skills and the capabilities of the Infor OS Platform.
