After a busy season of recruitment on college campuses, career fairs, and sourcing, Infor’s Early Talent Recruitment Team brought together a diverse cohort of early talent in Dallas, Texas. With unique backgrounds representing numerous states, universities, and stories from across the US, this three-day onboarding experience was the perfect opportunity to dive deep into what is Infor all about and how do we as members of this cohort fit into that vision.
Forty-two early talent new hires and internal transfers from the Dallas, St. Paul, and New York offices came together to kickstart their journey at Infor with informational sessions, presentations from leadership, and fun team-building activities. This new cohort spans teams in the US from across Infor, including the Foundation Sales Team, Business Development, Global Professional Services, and IMS Consulting.
A deep dive into Infor
The first night included a welcome activity and an opportunity to network among the cohort and with seasoned Inforians. Putting a real face to the organizers and participants of various pre-onboarding informational sessions through Microsoft Teams, this was the first time the employees got to meet their cohort and direct supervisors in real life and personally shake hands with the people who would accompany them on their career journey.
Over the next few days, the cohort engaged in learning, knowledge-sharing, collaborative actives, and networking with leaders from across Infor. With a focus on Infor’s Vision & Strategy and our culture’s foundation of Principle Based Management (PBM) Values, the cohort was immersed in many different topics from our products and marketplace differentiation to the customer journey, an intro to sales and implementation methodology, and even social media best practices as well as a discussion on working styles and behaviors—all of which tie back to our Vision and Values to work as #OneInfor.
Everyone in the room gave their full attention as they jotted down notes, asked questions, and shared insights from their personal experiences.
On the last day of the onboarding, Infor’s CEO Kevin Samuelson joined the group by video conference for a live Q&A where he discussed Infor’s history. Employees were able to ask Kevin questions in real time while being energized as he shared some of the company’s recent achievements and upcoming milestones.
This session was followed by a wrap-up pop quiz with a prize for the winner. We finished off with a night of networking and fun: bowling and laser tag at Pinstack!
The employees wore colored lanyards representing which department they were from, while each day we were met with different seating arrangement to foster cross-pollination and networking between departments. After each day of onboarding, the employees split up into functional breakouts to learn department-specific orientation and information from their supervisors.
Valuing Infor’s Early Talent
Throughout the entire week, the Early Talent Recruitment team kept up the momentum with their behind-the-scenes coordination from leading the agenda to ice breakers, games, and debriefs, all while making sure the onboarding milestones were met according to plan. We would like to thank Infor’s Early Talent Recruitment team, including Liz Carver, Makayla Wold, and Sara Provencal for all their hard work and dedication! They truly exemplified what it means to be a synergetic team!
The annual Early Talent Onboarding serves an important purpose in the Talent Strategy of #OneInfor. Infor is a global company, with 60,000 customers and 18,000 employees spanning across many countries and spread out even within each geographical hub. To bring together so many of our leaders, experts, and a diverse cross-section of employees all in one place to welcome Early Talent new hires reflects the value Infor places on teamwork, mutual benefit, and a vision that unites all employees.
We wish the new Early Talent cohort best of luck as they embark on their career journey. For some, this is their first job out of school, and for others, they joined Infor to start the next chapter in their journey of self-actualization. Regardless of their lived experiences prior to this, they ended up together at a single point in time: 2024 Early Talent Onboarding at Infor. Now they will have the opportunity to learn, grow, triumph, and develop together while building camaraderie and support with the same faces that welcomed them to Infor.
